SEEDS. Sprouts Trauma-Informed Care for Infants & Toddlers Training Series

SEEDS. SPROUTS TRAUMA-INFORMED CARE FOR INFANTS & TODDLERS TRAINING SERIES

This 4-part training series also called, Sprouts Professional Development, explores self-regulation and co-regulation with infants and toddlers, especially those who have experienced or have a history of Trauma. Early Childhood Education (ECE) competencies covered in this training series include:

  • Child Development
  • Learning

This training is conducted LIVE virtually via ZOOM and/or in-person, depending on participant needs. The training series is offered in both English and Spanish. The 4-part training series is designed and recommended to be completed as a cohort. Completion of the foundational, 8-module TIC Core training series is a pre-requisite to be eligible to enroll in the SEEDS/SPROUTS Professional Development training series. All are waitlisted until prerequisites are verified; once approved, you’ll be enrolled and receive training details by email.

Participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance after each training module and a Certificate of Completion after completing the entire training series. Participants who have a California Early Care & Education Workforce Registry ID number can also receive 2-3.5 hours of professional development credit per module. Credit for any training will be added to your CA Registry account up to 30 days after training completion.

Part 1: Recognizing Infant & Toddler Cues
This training explores with participants how adults can co-regulate with and promote self-regulation in infants and toddlers, including those who have experienced trauma.  Participants will learn how to recognize the types of cues that infants and toddlers demonstrate and discuss and analyze how early childhood trauma and other early adversities can impact infants’ and toddlers’ cues.

Part 2: Understanding Infant & Toddler Cues
This training explores with participants how adults can co-regulate with and promote self-regulation in infants and toddlers, including those who have experienced trauma.  Participants will practice understanding (or seeking to understand) the meaning of cues that infants and toddlers demonstrate when they are regulated or dysregulated and discuss and analyze how early childhood trauma and other early adversities can impact infants’ and toddlers’ cues.

  • Cohort 1 Spanish – Tuesday, July 14, 2026 (via Zoom 5:30PM- 8:00PM)
  • Cohort 2 English – Tuesday, February 9, 2027 (via Zoom 5:30PM- 8:00PM)

Part 3: Responding in Hot Moments to Infants & Toddlers
This training explores with participants how adults can co-regulate with and promote self-regulation in infants and toddlers, including those who have experienced trauma.  Participants will practice how to respond to cues in hot moments and discuss and analyze how early childhood trauma and other early adversities can impact infants’ and toddlers’ cues.

This training explores with participants how adults can co-regulate with and promote self-regulation in infants and toddlers, including those who have experienced trauma.  Participants will practice how to respond to cues in cool moments and discuss and analyze how early childhood trauma and other early adversities can impact infants’ and toddlers’ cues.

This training has a prerequisite of completing the 8-part Trauma-Informed Care Core Training Series.

ENROLLMENT INSTRUCTIONS

This is a live, virtual training conducted through Zoom and facilitated through BridgeBuilder. This training has a pre-requisite of the entire 8-module Trauma-Informed Care Core Training Series. The link will take you to BridgeBuilder website. Sign-in or create an account if you do not have one.

Everyone is placed in the waitlist until the instructor can verify the pre-requisites have been completed. Upon verification, you will be enrolled in the training. The day of the training you will also receive an email from the instructor with details on about the trainings.

The 4-part SEEDs.SPROUT training series is designed and recommended to be completed as a cohort. Please check, the languages available is listed. Youcan can check Bridge Builder for other trainings available. Credit for this training can be added to your California Registry account up to 30 days after training completion.
