Jackie B. Majors joined Crystal Stairs, Inc. in 2009. As the CEO, she is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the organization and for setting the agency’s strategic vision and direction.

Since taking the helm as CEO, some of Jackie’s accomplishments include implementing a three-year strategic plan, integrating Head Start preschool programs into the existing services, and successfully managing through unprecedented California state budget cuts. All the while, maintaining Crystal Stairs “service” reputation in the community. She has also successfully led Crystal Stairs’ efforts towards funding diversification, program expansion and new business development.

Jackie has more than 25 years of professional and instructional experience in early care and education. Prior to becoming CEO, Jackie held the position of Chief Programs Officer, overseeing Child Care Subsidy, Resource and Referral, Children’s Health & Wellness, as well as SAGE Nickerson Gardens Preschool, before and after school programs for Crystal Stairs. Before joining Crystal Stairs, Jackie was the Chief Program Officer for the Fulfillment Fund and served as the Senior Vice President of Operations for Knowledge Learning Corporation, one of the largest child care corporations in the country. For over 15 years, she was responsible for program management of over 900 child care centers throughout the western states and led the government relations initiative, which worked to connect policy makers with the proven impacts of high quality child care on the future workforce. Jackie dedicated 13 years as an adjunct instructor in the child development department for the Los Angeles Community College District. She was recently appointed to the Los Angeles County Policy Roundtable for Child Care and Development to make policy recommendations to the Board of Supervisors as it relates to improving the early childhood and education system county-wide.

As a mother to two daughters, and a Los Angeles native still living in the community with her husband, Jackie is keenly aware of the challenges faced by the children and families in south Los Angeles. It is this awareness that propels her commitment to ensure that all young children have a positive early start.

As Chief Financial Officer of Crystal Stairs, LyTanya Loughridge brings with her 17 years of direct experience working with nonprofit organizations.  This experience includes 13 years of management and specific expertise in financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, cash management, internal controls, cost allocation, and accounting systems development. Under her leadership Crystal Stairs has weathered many storms of lost revenues as the result of funding cuts through her prudent fiscal management and her unique understanding of organizational controls and efficiencies.

Prior to joining Crystal Stairs, Ms. Loughridge was the Director of Finance for Drew Child Development Corporation and has also worked for the County of Los Angeles Auditor-Controller as an Account Auditor. These work experiences have instilled in her a great passion for serving underrepresented communities through stable community institutions.

Ms. Loughridge holds a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration in Accountancy from California State University, Long Beach. Ms. Loughridge resides in Los Angeles and enjoys music and reading in her spare time.

In April 2016, Kendall joined Crystal Stairs as Chief Operating Officer and oversees the Family Services Department, the Resource and Referral Department, Parent Support Services, Customer Care, IT, and real estate/facilities management.

Kendall has spent his entire career in the non-profit sector, including over 25 years with YMCAs in Hawaii and California, where he served in various leadership positions. In his most recent position as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles, he was responsible for the overall operations of 26 branches, which included 2500 staff, an $80M annual budget as well as overseeing the Association’s facilities and capital projects. Kendall also served as the founding executive director for the Hawaii Home Ownership Center, a non-profit organization with a mission to strengthen Hawaii’s families and communities through home ownership.

Kendall was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii and attended the University of Hawaii, where he earned a BBA in International Business and an MBA. Kendall has served on various boards and advisory committees, including WRAP Family Services, Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle, and Coast Plaza Hospital. He was also recognized as one of Pacific Business News’ Forty Under 40. 

Lisa rejoined Crystal Stairs in December of 2021 as the Chief Compliance Officer and General Counsel providing oversight to Legal, Compliance and Human Resources departments.  In the early part of her career, Lisa spent 8 years at Crystal Stairs in the role of Staff Counsel and then Senior Staff Counsel.

Lisa has over 25 years of experience providing strategic advice, operational support and training to nonprofit organizations.  Prior to returning to Crystal Stairs, Lisa served as Managing Attorney and Director of Human Resources for a nonprofit legal services agency, and Compliance Officer for a youth job training organization.  Lisa’s personal life also exhibit a commitment to low-income communities.  She has volunteered extensively at various nonprofit and legal advocacy organizations and served on the board for several years at a legal services organization in LA County. 

Lisa received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara and her law degree from Pepperdine University School of Law.  She is an active member of the California State Bar since 1997 and is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources.

Sinthia Aruya serves as the Senior Director of Human Resources for Crystal Stairs, Inc. With more than 20 years of experience as a strategic leader, partner, and collaborator in Human Resources, Sinthia has dedicated most of her professional career supporting underserved communities, that spans several industries including, healthcare, early childhood education, behavioral health, homeless, HIV, and transgender services. With a true passion for people, Sinthia is also a certified DEI instructor and often provides HR consulting services to other social services agencies, and non-profit organizations.

Sinthia is also a native Angelino, born and raised in Inglewood, CA. She currently resides in Gardena, CA with her husband and three sons.
