Child Care Resource & Referral Service
Our mission at Crystal Stairs Inc. (CSI)- Resource &Referral (R&R) department is to help parents find appropriate child care; to assist family child care homes and centers in offering quality child care; to promote a child care system that meets the needs of the community. Our services benefit the culturally and linguistically diverse communities of Compton, Gardena, Hawthorne, Inglewood, Lawndale, Lynwood, South Central and Southwest Los Angeles.
The CSI R&R Department has been providing coaching services to family child care providers and child care centers as a partner of Quality Start Los Angeles (QSLA) since 2012. Our coaches are skilled and experienced in but not limited to all Environment Rating Scales (ERS), the Ages and Stages Questionnaires (ASQ) 3 and ASQ: Social-Emotional, supporting Teachers of Dual Language Learners (DLL), Desired Results Development Profile (DRDP), Special Needs and Inclusion and certified in all ages of Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) observation tools. The coaching team takes pride and joy in building strong and positive relationships with child care programs, providing constructive feedback, resources, and tools to assist them in creating a high-quality learning environment for children.
At CSI R&R Department we help families of all backgrounds locate child care and provide a variety of information, including health enrollment into free or low-cost health care systems. We also provide professional development trainings focused on the California Early Childhood Educator (ECE) competencies and offer monthly virtual First Friday programming – A story. A song. An activity. geared towards parents and providers.
- The California Child Care Initiative Project focuses on increasing the numbers of licensed family child care home providers who are trained and willing to serve infants and toddlers.
