Title: Trauma Informed Care Core Training Series – Orientation to the Emergency Child Care Bridge Program for Foster Children
When: Tuesday, May 28, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM
Where: Zoom – Link will be provided the DAY of the training via email. This training will be in English, Spanish interpretation will be available.
Description: This 2.5-hour training provides an overview of the challenges experienced by children in the foster care system. The Emergency Child Care Bridge for Foster Children Program will be introduced as a resource to assist child care providers working with foster children that may have experienced trauma. The concepts of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and trauma-informed care will be discussed. A full explanation of services through the Bridge Program will be reviewed.

- Foster children in CA
- Long term impact of trauma
- Goals of the Emergency Child Care Bridge Program
As a result of this training, participants will be able to:
- Describe how early traumatic experiences can impact a child’s health later in life
- List the three main components of the Bridge Program
